Leaving Pilning on the morning train and returning on the afternoon one, accumulate as many points as possible by visiting different stations. An exclusive Pilning Equaliser ticket is available to challengers successfully returning to Pilning having achieved the minimum number of points required for each of the levels as shown below.

BRONZE: 12 SILVER: 16 GOLD: 20

Your Equaliser attempt must start and finish at Pilning Station. Pilning does not score. Other than returning to Pilning via South Wales, only journeys within the Freedom Travelpass Area (FTA) are permitted.

Station points are determined by the FTA zone in which it lies. You must alight at a station, photograph its name and depart aboard a different service to which you arrived, in order for it to qualify.

You may use any stations more than once, however each station will count once only when calculating your total Equaliser score.

(Individual station accessibility is denoted in a table below these rules)

Stations marked “step free”: ALL routes between platforms are step free. Stations may be level throughout or include elevators or inclines (less than 1:12), to provide access between platforms.

Stations marked "step free option": station has both stepped and step free routes between platforms, however ALL challengers MUST use the available “step free option”. Use of any step or steps in connection with movement between platforms is STRICTLY PROHIBITED, including but not limited to; footbridge steps, “stepped ramps”, station entry/exit steps and any kerb not a “dropped kerb”.

Stations marked "limited access": station has NO “step free” routes between platforms. See note below. Where the route between platforms is not “step free” or includes inclines (more than 1:12), challengers may ONLY use a service that departs from the same platform as the service on which they arrived did.

Movement on or between any platforms that exceeds slow walking speed is STRICTLY PROHIBITED, as is the use of any station marked "limited access (not in play)".

No minimum connection times. Use only scheduled public passenger train services. No rail replacement bus services or any other forms of public or private transport permitted, including between stations on foot.

Challengers may only submit one challenge for any given Saturday. Rules and B/S/G qualifying points are subject to change at any time. Always visit www.pilningstation.uk prior to travelling. All journeys taken at challenger’s own risk. Always be “Rail Safe”.
